In the midst of the hustle and bustle here at Analog:Shift headquarters, we’re no strangers to taking a moment to chat about literally anything — whether it's a vintage car we’ve been lusting after, our current sartorial endeavors or more importantly, what’s for lunch. But of course, all conversations lead back to watches. Between the different preferences in style and aesthetics, overarching collecting philosophies or the latest internet-breaking release, it’s pretty easy for us to get lost in a discussion … or heated debate.
So we figured, why not set up a couple of microphones and cameras during these convos, and hit record.
We’d like to welcome you all to Talking:Shift; a casual chat about watches, collecting and anything else that drives the convo. And what better way to introduce our latest video series than to dig into this year’s new novelties from Watches & Wonders 2024!
Thomas Calara, one of our Contributing Editors here at A:S, as well as Josh Coates, our Vintage Timepiece Specialist sat down with Stephen Watson, one half of the Watches of Switzerland coverage team who was on the ground in Geneva, Switzerland to cover all of the madness.
Stephen Watson is an industry veteran currently serving as the Editor-In-Chief for Modern Luxury's Watches International and contributing as a social media consultant, writer, and video producer for Watches of Switzerland. In addition to numerous bylines in Revolution Mag and Watch Journal, Stephen has made a name for himself in the fashion industry with stints as the Fashion Director of Men's Vogue and Associate Fashion Editor of Vogue. Needless to say, Stephen is more than qualified to chat all-things Watches & Wonders.
Was it an underwhelming year? Not in the slightest bit! We talk about a handful of fantastic releases, new design directions, and potential trends that impact our world and beyond.
The dust has fully settled and much digital ink has been spilled. Let’s dive in!
