Angelus U23 Tourbillon Cosmopolitan Piece Unique

The legendary chronograph maker Angelus staged a comeback in 2015 with a collection of highly engineered timepieces. Among the modern creations of the brand were the U21 and U22, flying tourbillon watches with architecturally impressive skeletonized movements and the healthy use of modern, technical materials. Presented once again in a CTP carbon & titanium case, their Calibre U250 returns in a series of eight unique pieces with PVD-treated bridges, each model showcasing a different color.

Let us introduce to you the Angelus U23 Carbon Cocktail.

This contemporary piece unique is a long way from where the once-defunct brand started in the small town of Le Locle in 1891. Renowned for their chronographs and in-house designed movements, Angelus flexed their muscles at international exhibitions across the globe, winning awards almost every year from 1902 to 1926. Building on the spirit of pushing mechanical boundaries and challenging traditional watch design, the revived Angelus burst back onto the scene making some definitive noise in the Indie space.

The Angelus U23 Carbon Cocktail is one of eight variations released in 2020, each one named after a carefully crafted libation — this particular piece is dubbed the ‘Cosmopolitan’. The specific example features a 42mm case that is made up of a titanium lug set and a CTP (Carbon Thin Ply) midcase and caseback. The bezel-less case features a signed domed sapphire crystal offering a window into an incredible mechanical display. 

The open worked mechanism features colorful PVD treatments on the surface of the three titanium bridges. In this case they are adorned in a purple shade - hence the ‘Cosmopolitan’ nomenclature. The carbon fiber plate functions as both a dial and baseplate. Oh, and did we mention the intoxicating flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock?

Powered by the hand-winding Calibre A-250, also viewable through a display-back case, this piece comes with a complete kit including inner and outer boxes,  leather travel case, a signed loupe and paper set. In brand-new condition, this Cosmo seeks a thirsty wrist!

Most of our products are on hand and will ship directly from our headquarters in New York City. In some cases, watches will be shipped directly from one of our authorized partners.

We generally ship our products via FedEx, fully insured, within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required for receipt of all packages for insurance purposes. Expedited shipping is available at an additional cost. We are also happy to hand deliver your purchase in Manhattan or you may pick it up at our showroom.

Returns must be sent overnight or by priority international delivery, fully insured and paid for by the customer. A restocking fee may apply. Watches must be returned in the same condition as initially shipped.
