Why We Love it

Why We Love It

Patek Philippe is one of the few brands that knows how to execute simple perfection.

Over the years, their dress-line Calatrava has evolved, but the look remains unmistakable and iconic, and its rich history provides the vintage enthusiast with a variety of choices in metals, sizes, and tiny details to obsess over.

This particular example, a Reference 5107R, is sized at a sensible 37mm and is a delight for those seeking a refined presence. Now discontinued, the Reference 5107R was produced in solid 18K rose gold with a stunning opaline dial with a rose gold dauphine handset and framed date window. Powered by the automatic winding Calibre 315 SC movement visible through the sapphire display back, it truly epitomizes what Patek Philippe is most known for- understated elegance and delicate finishing.

This watch has been fitted to an outstanding glossy red alligator strap produced by our friends at Jean Rousseau, and comes complete with its original rose gold pin buckle, box, and a Certificate of Origin.

In other words- everything you need, nothing you don’t.

The Patek Philippe Story

Patek Philippe.

Founded in 1839, Patek Philippe is one of the oldest watch manufacturers in the world with an uninterrupted watchmaking history. Few luxury brands in the world carry the gravitas of their name, and for good reason.  The firm's commitment to excellence in horological manufacture is unflinching, and their track record of innovation in design without peer.  They continue to lead the industry, and even their fiercest competitors have nothing but the utmost respect for the company.

Owning a Patek Philippe is for many the ultimate goal of timepiece collecting, and for a certain type, the only timepieces they collect. Whichever way you look at it, there is no questioning the elegance of design, superlative manufacture of their cases and movements, or the sheer elegance and emotion that comes from owning one.

Of course for a brand that is steeped in heritage, we are told ‘You never actually own a Patek Philippe…”

Well, you know the rest.
