Why We Love it
–Laurent Ferrier is a master of his craft.
Having worked at Patek Philippe for 30 years — and having come in third behind Paul Newman at the 1979 edition of Le Mans — he opened his own atelier in 2009 and quietly began crafting some of the world’s most beautiful watches. To wit — this handsome dress watch from the 2010s:
Housed in a 40mm stainless steel ‘pebble-shaped’ case with a sapphire crystal, a polished bezel, and an unsigned ‘onion’ crown, it features a matte black dial with painted white ‘Arabic’ indices, a matching handset, an outer ‘railroad’ minute track, and a sub-seconds display at 6:00.
Flip this stunning, classically inspired dress watch over, and you’re able to view the beautifully decorated Lauren Ferrier FBH22.01 movement in all its micro-rotor-powered glory via a sapphire exhibition caseback. Finally, the watch is finished with a black leather crocodile strap with a beautiful signed steel pin buckle.
We’re the last people on Earth to discourage you from spending your hard-earned money on a well crafted dress watch from the likes of Patek Philippe or Vacheron Constantin. But if you care to patronize one of the best contemporary horologists on the planet, then spring for this Classic Micro-Rotor instead.
You will not be dissapointed.
