The MING 20.11 ‘Mosaic’ debuted in 2021, elevating the brand’s technical ingenuity and watchmaking prowess to new heights. Featuring a slightly larger case than their inaugural 17.01, the 20.11 is constructed out of lightweight materials and utilizes sapphire in a mind-bendingly cool way.

Its Grade 5 titanium case spans 41.5mm in width and features a DLC-coated midcase, as well as distinctive skeletonized 'blade' lugs, a piece of design vocabulary the Independent has come to be known for. The case is further complemented by a double anti-reflective sapphire crystal and a sapphire exhibition caseback showcasing a modified Schwarz-Etienne MING Calibre ASE 200.2 micro-rotor movement.

The most striking element of the watch is its laser-engraved sapphire dial. MING achieved a mesmerizing pattern using femtosecond — one quadrillionth of a second — laser bursts to engrave the sapphire canvas with over 2,650 squares of varying opacity. The resulting mosaic-like patterning catches the light - and the eye - in a way unlike any other timepiece we've handled. Its translucent effect is completed effect a luminous skeletonized sapphire handset and a peripheral hour track printed on the underside of the dial.

In near-mint, virtually unworn condition throughout, this example includes its factory collateral, including its box set, a signed travel roll, papers, warranty card and two additional unused signed leather straps.

Established in 2017 in Malaysia by Ming Thein and a close group of watch enthusiast friends and investors, Ming has quickly climbed to the top of the “high-end independent” heap for its inspired designs, minimalist aesthetics and wildly cool dials. Small details such as a bracelet that fits universally on all models, a unique 12 o’clock marker, and flared lugs make for a notable product line that nevertheless flies well under the radar in a world obsessed with steel sports watches from a handful of well-known brands.

Produced in Switzerland and QC’d in Kuala Lumpur, Ming watches use either Sellita and ETA movements in their entry-level pieces, or higher-end calibers from the likes of Schwartz-Etienne and others on some of its pricer wares. Their products sell out quickly, and Ming often rewards repeat customers with offers of allocations on new models. The watch industry has also taken note, awarding the 17.06 Copper model the Horological Revelation price at the 2019 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.

Most of our products are on hand and will ship directly from our headquarters in New York City. In some cases, watches will be shipped directly from one of our authorized partners.

We generally ship our products via FedEx, fully insured, within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required for receipt of all packages for insurance purposes. Expedited shipping is available at an additional cost. We are also happy to hand deliver your purchase in Manhattan or you may pick it up at our showroom.

Returns must be sent overnight or by priority international delivery, fully insured and paid for by the customer. A restocking fee may apply. Watches must be returned in the same condition as initially shipped.
