Why We Love it
–In 1968, Patek Philippe released the Golden Ellipse.
Debuting eight years before the iconic Nautilus, the Ellipse — with its distinctive oval shape — was unlike anything else in Patek Philippe’s catalogs. The case proportions relied on the ancient Greek “golden section” ratio of 1 / 1.6181, heralded as the purest way to depict harmonious shapes. In the early 1970s, Patek expanded the Ellipse line to include squarish case shapes — dubbed "TV Cases" by enthusiasts.
This example, a Reference 3567, dates back to the 1970s and features a 26mm x 32mm solid 18k yellow gold case with a signed crown, ‘hammered’ textured dial and a stunning integrated yellow gold bracelet with matching textured finishing, secured by a signed hook and lock clasp.
This incredible dial is subtly complemented by applied black baton indices and a matching black ‘pencil’ handset. Powered by an ultra-thin hand-wound Patek Philippe Calibre 175 movement based on a nearly 100 years old design by Frédéric Piguet, this stunning timepiece manages to wear larger than its measurements would suggest, while maintaining an impressively present and svelte on-wrist experience.
Elegant, distinctive and timeless, this special Patek will make you feel like a million bucks every time you strap it on!
*Due to the design of this bracelet, sizing alterations may require custom work. Lead time after measurements are established is 4-6 weeks.*
