Tudor Oyster Prince Date + Day 'Jumbo'

Many watch enthusiasts start their journey longing for a steel Rolex Day-Date - often one in a larger case than the standard 36mm version, only to inevitably and sadly accept that there has never been such a thing. 

But fear not! If you want a steel Day-Date in an oversized Oyster case, there is indeed an option, and it’s a rare bird: The Tudor Reference 7020/0 Oyster Prince.

Produced for only a few years in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, and it’s one of the few vintage Tudors that’s managed to slip under the radar of most vintage Rolex/Tudor enthusiasts. Its obscurity is certainly not due to its lacking of style or features, as it ticks just about every box that vintage collectors could want.

First off: Its case is 39mm, the same diameter as a vintage Submariner or GMT-Master. Many consider this to be the perfect “Goldilocks” size, not too big, not too small  — juuust right. This gives the watch a modern feel without compromising its vintage bona fides. With a dial displaying hours, minutes, seconds, day and date, the icing on the cake is its rotating steel bezel — a sporty flourish that complements the case size and makes this Oyster Prince model a cousin to the lesser known Rolex Turn-O-Graph 'Thunderbird'

This particular example features a luminous silver sunburst dial set beneath a magnified acrylic crystal. With applied hour markers, a date window at 3 o’clock, a day window at 12 o’clock, and a lumed ‘baton’ handset, it’s everything you need and nothing you don’t. As a cherry on top, this example also features an incredibly rare Italian-language calendar wheel.

All in all, this is a fantastically versatile and unique watch. It’s a little sporty, a little dressy, and just about the perfect do-anything, go-anywhere daily driver. If you want something that dresses up better than a diver but still works for casual wear, this may be your perfect watch.

Most of our products are on hand and will ship directly from our headquarters in New York City. In some cases, watches will be shipped directly from one of our authorized partners.

We generally ship our products via FedEx, fully insured, within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required for receipt of all packages for insurance purposes. Expedited shipping is available at an additional cost. We are also happy to hand deliver your purchase in Manhattan or you may pick it up at our showroom.

Returns must be sent overnight or by priority international delivery, fully insured and paid for by the customer. A restocking fee may apply. Watches must be returned in the same condition as initially shipped.
