The most frustrating part about what we do at analog/shift is having to say NO to our clients, as in “no, we don’t have a blue Snowflake right now”, or “sorry, no blue Lollipops at the moment”. Some watches are extremely sought after, and it’s just not possible to have a good one available all the time, so when we get in a beautiful example, it goes fast.

It’s no wonder Tudors have become so highly sought after lately. They have been popular for years, but they used to be seen only as a cheap, fun addition to a Rolex collection- a weekend watch of sorts to wear when the serious pieces were in the vault. In the past few years, collector sentiment has changed in a big way, and the iconic style of their classic timepieces (along with the re-emergence of the brand in the U.S. with their impressive collection of Heritage models) has bumped-up Tudor collecting to a higher tier. 

But with increased popularity comes a rash of refurbished, modified, "Frankensteined" and outright fake examples offered by unscrupulous sellers looking to ride the wave and make a quick buck, making it difficult for enthusiasts to find the genuine article. We've been wading through the crap to find honest, genuine pieces and have recently turned up this gorgeous late-model Reference 79090 Submariner, an absolute beauty of a diver if there ever was one, and available for a fraction of the price of a Rolex-branded model.

Featuring all the hallmark elements of the icon from whence it spawned, this 79090 does its ancestors proud with a crisp full-size 39mm Oyster case, sharp lugs, original matte black dial with lightly patinated luminescent elements, and its original bezel insert.
