Volvo P1800 Stacks Up Against Ferrari and Aston Martin

We love it when an object succeeds in punching way above its weight class, especially when it’s a car. 

This ad for the Volvo P1800 totally takes this idea and runs with it, comparing its looks and mechanical specs to contemporary competition from Ferrari and Aston Martin. All three have a lot in common — disc brakes, 4-speed synchromesh gearbox, live rear axle, independent front suspension, precise steering, European styling... you get the idea. But the one glaring difference between the three is the price point. While the Ferrari and Aston fetched prices north of $10,000, the Volvo P1800 originally retailed for a mere $3,995. 

This particular ad dates to 1962 and is custom framed in a 14” x 16 1/4” solid wood frame with a black painted finish. It features a custom-measured, hand-cut 4-ply border in a shade of white, complimenting the ad’s creamy tones. Every material used is acid-free and the glass is anti-reflective and offers UV-protection to keep this precious ad preserved no matter where you decide to hang it. Speaking of which, hanging your newly purchased ad is a seamless task, as this particular frame comes with a hanging wire and felt pads for wall protection.  

Although this is a Volvo ad, you get a three-for-one deal on 1960s automotive excellence  when this gets displayed.

Most of our products are on hand and will ship directly from our headquarters in New York City. In some cases, watches will be shipped directly from one of our authorized partners.

We generally ship our products via FedEx, fully insured, within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required for receipt of all packages for insurance purposes. Expedited shipping is available at an additional cost. We are also happy to hand deliver your purchase in Manhattan or you may pick it up at our showroom.

Returns must be sent overnight or by priority international delivery, fully insured and paid for by the customer. A restocking fee may apply. Watches must be returned in the same condition as initially shipped.
